Publish your first model

Prepare release files and useful documentation so others can use your work.

Prepare a usable release

Confirm that the model loads in Core, then prepare a deployment package or training checkpoint for its intended use. ONNX models with external weights need their companion files. GKG5 can include decks, replays, documentation and presets; these do not automatically become model inputs or modify a user’s training configuration.

Choose where to host your files

Publishers host their files; GalateaYGO lists descriptions and download links. Automated review currently supports GKG files up to 2 GiB in public GitHub Releases. Use a fixed release tag rather than latest. Split larger packages first; other hosting sources are not yet supported by the review workflow.

Explain the purpose and provenance

Describe the intended tasks, training focus, known limitations, usage and license. Credit the original work when continuing another author’s model. Evaluation reports should specify opponents, decks, game counts and policy settings. Leave unmeasured metrics empty instead of presenting examples as real results.

Prepare submission information

Choose a local GKG on the publishing page. A background reader reads its manifest and hashes the file without uploading or running it. Select the featured artifact, add your description, license and download links, then copy the saved JSON into the GitHub submission form. An administrator checks the downloaded package and its provenance; it is listed after approval and merging. Changed files require a new release and review.
